September 13, 1960 - March 18, 2020

Michael “Mike” Frassico, age 59, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Newark, DE on September 13, 1960, he was a son of the late Joseph Frassico and Nancy (Coursey) Stanley. Mike worked as a maintenance technician supervisor and was a Master Sergeant for the Army National Guard for 40 years. In his spare time, he loved riding his Harley. Mike enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and was an avid NASCAR fan. His most cherished moments were trips to the beach with his wife and spending time with his grandkids.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his soulmate of 16 years, Angela Frassico; children, Tiffany Nunes (Joe), Joseph Frassico (Tiffany), Mark Mobley (Savannah), David Mobley (Britany) and Tiffany Gray; siblings, Diane Greenawalt (Jeff) and Joe Frassico; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, many dear friends and coworkers; and his faithful companion, Toby.

A public visitation will be held from 5 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, in compliance with the COVID-19 regulations. A committal service will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s memory to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center 2nd Floor, Polly Drummond Shopping Center, Newark, DE 19711.

  • Condolences. Such a sad day. Mike could be hard sometimes as a boss sometimes, but he had a big heart and was always right there to help when life was filled with one struggle after another. Could always count on him to be there when you really needed an ear. Countless times he was there for some very difficult moments in my life. One of those guys you could always count on no matter what. He will be missed.

  • Rest in Peace Mike. Thank you for the many years of service to this State and Country. The Delaware Army National Guard has lost one of its finest. Your dedication and commitment to the Soldiers will truly be missed. I have many memories of you from the early 80’s when we were all in 262nd Maintenance Company in Delaware City as young SGT’s. You always stood your ground throughout your entire career to do what’s right for the Soldier and the mission. Some leaders thought you were just being hard-headed at times, but I always knew the real reason, “you truly cared about the Soldier”. My prayers are with you and all of your family, Rest in Peace my friend

  • I’m deeply saddened to have just now found out about Mike’s passing!! We served together at Det 1, 262nd Maintenance Co in Delaware City 2003-2006 when I transferred to the Colorado Army National Guard.
    I admired him for the way he took care of his people.
    He will be sorely missed!!
