Michael Viands, age 25, of Newark, DE, died suddenly on Sunday, April 25, 2010. A native Delawarean, Michael was born in Wilmington on May 15, 1984. He was a graduate of Newark High School and was currently studying welding, a skilled craft he began learning from his father in earlier years. In his leisure hours, he greatly enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, taking trips to the beach, and, most especially, spending time with his beloved family. Well known for his wonderful sense of humor and engaging personality, Michael will be long remembered as everybodys best friend. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend; loved by many, he will be deeply and sadly missed. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Andrea and Edward Teodozow; father and stepmother, Edward and Colleen Viands; sister, Betsy Viands; nephew, Amier Viands; stepbrother, Bud Onechuck; and stepsisters, Janet New and Kimberly Hawk; maternal grandparents, Helen Marie Waddell and Robert Glenn Waddell; and maternal great grandmother, Clarine Newsome. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, 19711, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. In lieu of flowers, donations to help with funeral expenses may be made to Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home at the address above.
