Michael Wiley “Mike” Wall

Michael Wiley “Mike” Wall, age 82, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Born in Henrietta, NC on January 20, 1943, he was the son of the late Vernon H. and Vernie (Hames) Wall. Mike graduated from North Carolina State University in 1965 with a degree in mechanical engineering and went on to spend a fulfilling 34-year career with the DuPont Company.

Mike met the love of his life, Jane Kerr Wall, in Chattanooga, TN. They were married for 45 years and raised their family in Chattanooga, TN, Summerville, SC, and Richmond, VA.

In the fall of 2021, Mike moved to Middletown, DE, to be closer to family.

Mike was an avid woodworker and outdoor gardener. He will be remembered for his quick wit, eclectic taste in music, sweet tooth, and warm smile.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane (Kerr) Wall. He is survived by his children, Andy Wall (Lita) and Jason Wall (Michelle); granddaughters, Ann Stewart Wall and Ruby Wall; and cousin, Dr. Elizabeth “Libby” Goode.

A visitation for local friends will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE. A family memorial service and inurnment will be held privately.

  • We are so sorry that Mike is gone. We have fond memories going back to Jason and Michelle”s wedding and many holiday celebrations. It was always a pleasure to see Mike happy during those times. We were also fortunate to see him when we visited Delaware. We all will miss him.
