Mrs. Marjorie Allene (Norris) Fioravanti
May 20, 1936 - April 12, 2023
Mrs. Marjorie Allene (Norris) Fioravanti, age 86, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, following a brief illness.
Marjorie was born on May 20, 1936 in Butler, TN, to the late Edgar Faine and Pearl Miller Norris. A beautiful and determined young woman, she left her family farm at age 19 to travel and work in Delaware. One of her most cherished memories was her time spent working at A.I. duPont Hospital. Marjorie met her future husband, Paul, at Sunset Park in Chester County, PA a story they both often share. They were married on December 31, 1960 at St. Patrick’s Church in Wilmington. Together, they built a life in New Castle that was full of family, friends, wonderful gatherings, and three treasured children. Marjorie devoted her life to family, faith, and the service of young people as an avid volunteer with Our Lady of Fatima School and parish. Her home was a busy hub for family, neighbors and her children’s classmates, where she supported many activities including being a Den Mother for Cub Scouts. The care of her family, her children’s education and happiness, and the keeping of her beautiful home was paramount. An eternal optimist, her motto was “you can do anything you set your mind to.” She inspired many children and was a guiding star to everyone who knew her.
Marjorie was an avid reader and enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, birdwatching, cooking, entertaining, and baking along with anything having to do with her grandchildren. Traveling home to Tennessee was always a happy journey for her.
The family would like to express its gratitude to Christiana Care Home Health and Accent Care.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her sisters, Beatrice Forrester, Kathleen Mullins and Jessica McComas; as well as her loving and longtime friend, Anna Martinez. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Paul A. Fioravanti Sr. of New Castle; brother, Charles Norris of Butler, TN; children, Paul A. Fioravanti Jr. (Shannon) of Wilmington, Mark Fioravanti of Knoxville, TN, and Anna Marie Fioravanti Kendig (Terrance) of Newark; seven grandchildren, Gina (John Preston), Paul III (Ashley), Joseph, Julia, Matthew, Francesca, and Maria Fioravanti; one great-grandchild; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 10:30 am on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am, following the visitation, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington, DE.

My family and I were lucky enough to share time with the Fioravanti family when Mrs. Fioravanti was where she loved to be most — surrounded by the loving family she had created.
