Myrtle Elsie Arnold, age 97, of Newark, DE, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Born in Paterson, NJ on October 10, 1926, she was the youngest of three daughters born to the late Albert and Myrtle (Provost) Sanders. Myrtle was a graduate of Paterson High School and went on to work at several jobs. Her favorite being the assistant to the programming director at WPAT, classical radio station in Paterson. Myrtle got to enjoy and choose what music would be played.

Myrtle married David Arnold in 1950, they had two children. They moved to Newark, DE in 1963 and became active members at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Myrtle was a lifelong, active member of the Morning Circle, gaining many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her loving husband, David Arnold; and grandson, David Arnold. She is survived by her children, Lynn Arnold and David Arnold (Cindy); grandchildren, Chuck Arnold (Katie) and Julie Tepner (Brian); and her precious great-grandbabies, Alexandra, Bryce, Sawyer and Violet.

The Arnold family would like to thank the many dedicated health professionals who compassionately cared for Myrtle these past 5 months. They were all rocks through this difficult time.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Interment will be held privately.
