Nancy B. Essex
March 17, 1954 - June 1, 2024
Nancy B. Essex, age 70, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at Christiana Hospital on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
Born in Harrisburg, PA on March 17, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Warren R. and Caroline G. (Gotshall) Brackett.
She and her husband, Jeffery A. Essex, celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 20th. Nancy always looked forward to taking family vacations and cruises. Many memories have been made in Alaska, Caribbean, OBX, and most recently, on a lake in PA. She loved watching her 2 favorite teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies.
In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her 3 daughters, Stephanie Hayhurst (Stephen) of Martinsburg, WV, Holly Essex (Nick) of Newark, DE, and Kimberly Danz (Tim) of Middletown, DE; 8 grandchildren, Sunshine Bennett, Sage Hayhurst, Sequoia Hayhurst, Cassidy Essex, Alyssa Danz, Cedar Hayhurst, Stella Hayhurst, and Aubrey Danz; sibling, Carol Koria (Bill) of Townsend, DE; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was also a beloved sister-in-law to Dave, Debra (Dwayne), Susan (David) and Kathy.
A committal service will begin at 10 am on Friday, July 19, 2024, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
