Nicholas J. Caporelli, age 79, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on September 12, 1942, he was a son of the late Marino and Margaret M. (Houston) Caporelli. Nicholas proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army National Guard. He worked as an operating engineer for over 58 years for Local 542, retiring in 2003. Nicholas was a member of the Sons of Italy in New Castle, the American Legion, Terrace Athletic Club, Rock Manor Golf Club, and Ed Oliver’s Golf Club.

In addition to his parents, Nicholas was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Kee; son-in-law, Joseph James Potter; and brother-in-law, D. Charles Cocciolone. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sandra (DuBois) Caporelli; children, William Caporelli and Anne Marie Potter; sister, Arlene Cocciolone; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 2 pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance regardless of vaccination status. Interment will be held privately.

    i met him when he join lou’s in late 60’s or 70’s he just started golf. sandy i know he loved you, always said i don’t how she puts up with me she keeps me strait thank god he great love for your father. he never loss for words i’ll miss him and i’am sure lou our sometime traveling partner would say same.
