Nichole Rae “Nikki” Swales

Nichole Rae “Nikki” Swales, age 49, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Born in Wilmington, DE on April 7, 1977, she was a daughter of Crystal Ann (Reisinger) Swales and the late Robert Charles “Bob” Swales, Jr. Nichole enjoyed Mickey Mouse, Cocomelon, dancing, music and playing peek-a-boo. She was her daddy’s “sidekick” and “forever baby.” She brightened the lives of everyone around her. Those that met Nichole knew how much she loved holding her ribbons and that she never went anywhere without them. Nichole will always be remembered for her beautiful eyes and her happy, bubbly personality. Up until she became ill and unable to attend church, her favorite thing to do after service was visit with everyone.

Nichole is survived by her mother, Crystal Swales; sisters, Katie Geibler (Joe) and Stacy Ostroff (Josh); and 7 nieces, 2 nephews, 1 great-nephew, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Newark Wesleyan Church, 708 West Church Road, Newark, DE 19711. A funeral service will begin at 10 am on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Newark Wesleyan Church, where you are invited to join for a reception immediately after the service at the church. Following the reception, a graveside service will be held at 2 pm in Old Drawyers Cemetery, 2839 DuPont Highway, Middletown, DE.
