Nickolas “Nick” Fede

November 23, 1978 - March 31, 2020

Beloved Nickolas “Nick” Fede, age 41, of Pike Creek, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

Born in Wilmington, DE on November 23, 1978, he was a son of Thomas and Deborah Fede. Nick was employed by Agilent Corp. as a successful and valued Project Manager. He was a proud graduate of the University of Delaware and Glasgow High School where he was All State in Track and Cross Country. He also competed in and won many local road races, prior to an accident ending his running career. He later developed a passion for and became proficient in Disc Golf, becoming a member of the PDGA and was sponsored by Toss Apparel. He participated in and competed in many tournaments locally and nationally.  Nick enjoyed hiking and loved spending time in nature, outdoors year-round with his family.

Nick was most passionate above all things about his son, Fox. He was a kind, fun and patient father. His love for Fox shone through in every aspect of his life. From teaching Fox to read, to riding a bike at an early age, his loving and grounded patience and enthusiasm will be carried on.

Nick touched many people in his life with his outgoing and infectious personality and will missed by all who knew and loved him. Everywhere he went people were enamored with his energy! He was and will remain unforgettable. He was a fan of all kinds of music, from Taylor Swift to Garth Brooks! He loved to laugh and have fun and he was dedicated to making sure his family was supported. He was enthusiastic and diligent in everything he did. If he was interested in something, he would research and work tirelessly to make it happen. He supported so many young men in sobriety throughout the years and had a brilliant light in his heart. He loved his family and wanted to always be sure they stayed connected. His love will be forever felt and his infectious laugh will live on.

Thank you to all who loved Nick and who continue to reach out and support his family in this time. He has moved on to the world of spirit to be with his Heavenly Father and Creator and will continue to help, heal, and love us all in spirit. May you come together and remember his light, his love and his incredible smile and laughter. Allow it to comfort you and feel his loving embrace whenever you need it. We cherish him now and forever. Nick would urge you to get outside and embrace the warmth of the sunshine, to love your family and to live your lives true desires. Love whenever and wherever you can. Don’t be afraid to live bold and joyful just as he did, and let his spirit shine though you.

Nick is survived by his wife, Tiffany Fede; son, Fox Fede; parents, Thomas and Deborah Fede; brother, Michael Fede (Jenna); niece, Scarlett Fede; mother and father-in-law, Mark and Trish Abrahams; and his grandmother, Patricia George.

In compliance with the COVID-19 Pandemic Regulations, a private service was held on April 6, 2020 with his loving family. A celebration of Nick’s life will be held at a later date to be announced by the family on this site.

  • To Nick’s entire family, I am so sorry for your loss. Nick and his father Tommy Fede are my cousins. I didn’t know Nick that well over the years, but I do recall a time when he was very young. I was getting physical therapy for my back and I saw Tommy and Nick come into the same place. Unbeknown to me, Tommy was in there for his sports injuries as well. Now Nick was about 9 years old or so.

He stood out to me even then. This young boy at this time was very, and I mean very athletic. He was using every machine and moving extremely fast when using them. I was just in awe observing him. Saying to myself, “that is one of my little cousins “. I was just smiling and proud…

The most recent time I saw him was a few years ago during his grandfathers and my uncles funeral. He left an impression on me that I never forgot. His smile and the proudest expression he had on his face when he introduced me to his son. It was a beautiful moment that I will always remember. To see how happy he was and it was so noticeable. His son (Fox Fede) has the same smile and it just made me smile as well.

For my mother (Loretta Fede), myself and the rest of my family, we are so sorry and saddened. To my cousins Tommy and Debbie, Sandy, Cheryl Ann & Tina, as well as the extended family and Nick’s wife (Tiffany) and his brother Michael, please know that all of you are in our prayers.

  • My heart is breaking for the Fede family. Nick and i worked together at Agilent. Being in the program myself, we also attended some of the same meetings outside of work. I’m not going to say anything that you don’t already know, but his smile was contagious. You couldn’t help be smile with him. He was a good man taken way too soon. Here is a fun memory of him that i’ll always remember, at work we have a company Field Day on site, and one of the things that a lot of us at worked liked, was watching Nick participate in the musical chairs event. He had us rolling as he scoped out the chair he wanted to swipe, and got it, by leaping over the set of chairs and taking the seat. Just writing that brings a smile to my face about him. We love and miss you Nick, until we meet again…..

  • Dear Tom and family:

  • I am so sorry for your loss! The video tribute was beautiful! It’s clear just from looking on Facebook that he loved you and Fox dearly! Hold on to the loving memories. Hugs!!!

  • So so sorry for your lost Nick was a sweet man. Tiffany Im sending you, Fox and the family prayers and all my Love.❤

  • Nick was always great fun at social events. One of the easiest people to talk to I have ever met. He will be greatly missed. Fox and Tiff will be loved and looked after by all of us.

  • I shall miss chatting with Nick while working in my garden, he loved to engage people and was interested in others and how they were doing. Though a greeting may seem a small act, it is the simple acts that can be the most meaningful and loom large in the memory. Nick will be fondly remembered by me, my family, and by so many others whose lives he touched.

  • We have been friends and neighbors with this wonderful family for ~35 years. Our kids grew up together in Hickory Woods both families moving into Caravel Woods. Ours kids played ball together, Tom and myself coached together and against each other with the kids playing on the teams and running against each other on cross-country. We have had the privilege to know Nick and watch him grow into the young man that he was. Nick was always a joy to be around and had that infectious smile that made you feel good. Nick will surely be missed by everyone that has had the opportunity to cross his path. Recently we had the pleasure of meeting Fox and I felt I was going back in time. Although Nick has left this world he lives in Fox’s mannerism and that same infectious smile so when you give Fox a hug you will be hugging Nick. We will miss him. Dave & Mary Lynn

    Ron & Leslie Tyson

  • Belated condolences. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. May you cherish the wonderful memories of your beloved son.

  • “Lead, follow or get out of the way! ” This was one of our inspirational mantras at Glasgow High School on our illustrious cross country and track and field teams. We strived for victory above all else but definitely didn’t let all that seriousness get in the way of us being forever young and having as much fun as possible.

Nick was a true leader and someone I looked up to due to his work ethic in practice, his performance in competition and his relaxed demeanor towards life. Things just seemed to be better when Nick was around. We had many great times together in victory, defeat, celebration…

After high school, we might have lost touch, but I never forgot what he meant to me. I encourage all others that Nick touched to keep with you the joy of the good times that his presence brought and the inspiration of the strength that Nick showed through the tough times.

We will always be winners my friend, running wild and carefree… and hey, we have one more game of “man hunt” to settle and we are all still chasing you, as usual!

  • Tom,
So sorry to hear about the loss of your son. I can’t imagine what you and your family are going through at this time. Please stay strong- you are in my prayers..

  • My sincerest condolences to the entire Fede Family. I worked with Nick’s father Tom at Nemours and Tom spoke highly of both his sons and their families. May God give all of you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

  • My condolences to the Fede family. Nick was an awesome track and cross country teammate at Glasgow, and a great friend. He was an incredible runner and I learned so much from him, but he was an even better guy. He always had a huge smile on his face and he always wanted everyone to be happy. May God Bless Nick and his family, and I am so sorry for your loss.

  • I am so sorry to hear about Nick’s passing. The last time I saw Nick was about 6 months ago when I was walking a dog from the shelter through Canby park. He was in the middle of a frisbee golf competition but still stopped me in my tracks with a big smile that could light up anyone’s day and a huge “hello Kim!”
He helped me when I was having a tough time with a stepson and offered advise , experience strength and hope like he had done for so many others . I was lucky enough to have gotten to know him and his wisdom went beyond his years.
He will be so missed by many. I will always remember the pep he had in his step, bright eyes, wide smile and kind way

  • I was heartbroken to hear of Nick’s death. May God give you strength during this tragic time. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I did not know him ,but he seemed like a wonderful son and especially a special loving father.🙏🏻❤️
