Pamela E. “Pam” Koch
Pamela E. “Pam” Koch, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25th, 2025.
Born in Chessington, Surrey, England; Pam married her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Koch on January 21st, 1961. The two have been residents of the Newark, DE area for the majority of their 60+ years of marriage.
A loving wife and mother, she is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Deborah, Diana, and Geoff; grandchildren, Orion, John, Michael, and Scott; siblings, Pauline and Arthur; as well as numerous loving nephews and nieces and their children. Pam’s happiest moments in life were those when extended family came together, whether seated around a holiday table or gathered for a family vacation.
For a large part of her life, she was a dedicated member of the Daughters of the British Empire (DBE), a British ancestry philanthropic organization in which she held various state, regional, and national positions. She was also actively involved in local bowling and golfing leagues. It was through these various groups that she built some of her strongest friendships.
Anyone who knew Pam would know, the mention of family and friends must include a mention of her love for her dogs. Many pleasurable days were spent walking her dogs on the beaches of Cape Henlopen State Park and Lewes.
Pam was very creative and sentimental. An announcement of a pregnancy would be followed with the ticking of knitting needles as Pam went to work on another baby sweater. A walk through her home would reveal additional works of cross-stitch, needlepoint, home-sewn curtains, paintings, flower arrangements, and ceramics.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the devoted and caring staff of Arden Courts in Wilmington and Heartland Hospice.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11 am on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a celebration of life will begin at 11 am. Inurnment will be held privately.
Any family members or friends who are unable to attend the service for Pam, may live stream the service by clicking here.
Pam lost much of who she was as she fell victim to the memory stealing disease of dementia over the past several years. The family asks for friends and family to help symbolically restore what was lost by adding a fond memory you have of Pam to the Memory Tree display at the Celebration of Life ceremony. If you are unable to attend, we kindly ask for you to share your memory by email to fraidyfrey@gmail.com and it will be added to the display.

So many fun memories with Aunt Pam over my whole life time. She definitely has always been my favorite Aunt. Teaching us games like pinochle and bridge (bridge was too complicated for us- we stuck to pinochle), doing puzzles together, bowling and golf, and most definitely time at the beach! Visiting Aunt Pam and Uncle Bob in Lewes led to us buying our own place there and enjoying the coastal life too. Aunt Pam leaves a legacy of love for family, children and pets and will be remembered fondly by so many.

Growing up, Aunt Pam and Uncle Bob have always felt like extra grandparents. Their house is so often full of family, and laughter and lots of love. Aunt Pam herself had such a beautiful laugh, which I haven’t heard in quite a while now but I’ll never forget. Aunt Pam and my Nana always had wonderful stories about their parents too, and I hope Aunt Pam is laughing again with those who went before her. She will always be loved and missed.
