Pamela Jean “Pam” Ingram
July 7, 1961 - August 7, 2024
Pamela Jean “Pam” Ingram, age 63, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on July 7, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Marie F. (Bradford) and Edward T. Hollyday. A lifelong resident of New Castle, Pam graduated from Delcastle Technical High in 1979. The weekend following graduation, she married the love of her life, Timothy, on May 26, 1979.
Pam was a homemaker for many years until she found her true calling in life in educational support. She started her career with the Colonial School District in 1996 as a paraprofessional educator at William Penn High School. Pam was known to be a beacon of light and hope in her school community, touching countless lives while working in education. She enjoyed working with students who needed more educational support, including integration students. Pam especially enjoyed working with the Drivers Education department. She will be remembered as a motherly figure to all those she touched.
Pam was an active member at Asbury United Methodist Church and served as the liaison between SPRC and their childcare center. Additionally, she was a member of the Emmaus group, past board member of DSEA, member of the Wilmington Manor Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and past president of Colonial Paraprofessional Union.
Pam enjoyed traveling and went on many adventures with friends who were more like family. She was an avid gardener with a deck full of flowers and some of the best grown tomatoes around. Pam had a special place in her heart for animals and welcomed many of them into her home throughout her life. She was very loving and devoted to her fur babies. Most importantly, family was a very big part of Pam’s life, including spending time at her beach residence with all her family under one roof. Her grandchildren were by far her greatest treasure in life. “Rahrah” loved them dearly.
Pam’s personality brought warmth and joy to everyone she encountered, and her passing will be mourned deeply by everyone that knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Pam was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Tim Ingram; step-father, Joseph Daemer; sister, Christine McKelvey; and Marion and Alvin Evans. She is survived by her son, Chad Ingram (Kimberly); daughter, Courtney Anderson (John); beloved grandchildren, Emily (Jayden), Cole, and Jaxson; sister, Patricia Hollyday, in-laws, Michael Ingram (Karen), Julie Leonard (Jeff); Tammy Evans (Darrell); and a host of nieces, nephews, and very dear friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 300 E. Basin Road, New Castle, DE. A second visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Asbury United Methodist Church, where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery, 428 Port Penn Rd., Middletown, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pam’s memory may be made to Humane Animal Partners, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, Attn: Jeanette Hayes, or online by clicking here, or to Asbury United Methodist Church, 300 East Basin Road, New Castle, DE 19720.

Thinking of the family during this tragic time. I’m hoping that wonderful memories will help ease some of the pain of Pam’s passing. She was a loving educator who not only cared greatly about her students but helped all students she came across.

Family, and friends who become like family, are what give us strength and support through both laughter and tears. Please remember you are surrounded by those who love you and let us lend you strength when you need it (or, just go ahead and vent…We can handle that too). Pam touched so many lives and made people feel at home. When you do the same, in her name, you keep her memory alive. Sending you strength and hugs!
