Patricia A. “Pat” Harman

Patricia A. “Pat” Harman, age 78, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2025 with her devoted husband by her side holding her hand.
Born in Malden, MA on May 1, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Helen E. (Phillips) Davies.
After high school, Pat was a telephone information operator for Ma Bell in Malden, MA when she first met her future husband Gene on a blind date at a Halloween party. After her daughters started school, she started working at the Newark Department Store. She later worked as a records clerk for Happy Harry’s Home Health Care, American Home Patient and Christiana Care VNA.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her niece, Sandra Lacey. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Eugene F. Harman; children, Michele Straub (Dan) of Newark and Cindy Massie (Jake) of Townsend; grandchildren, Dustin Straub (Allison) and Tanner Kelly (fiancé, Addi); her sisters, Beverly Lawson, Marion Diorio (Charles); and nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Inurnment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s memory to Aetna Hose Hook & Ladder, Fund Drive, P.O. Box 148, Newark, DE 19715.

I didn’t know her before her medical issues but after and she was an inspiration and also a stubborn woman who was a joy to be around
