Patricia M. Savadel

Patricia M. Savadel, age 94, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2017.

Born in Atlantic City, NJ on December 12, 1922, Patricia was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Trout) McLaughlin. In addition to raising her family, she worked as a teacher’s assistant at Friends School in Moorestown, NJ, retiring after many years of dedicated service.

Patricia was a woman of strong Catholic faith and longtime parishioner of Holy Family Church in Newark. A talented artist, she especially loved drawing. In her leisure time, Patricia was an avid reader and enjoyed following politics. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph L. Savadel. She is survived by her children, John Savadel (Sue) of Wilmington, Karen Hinman (Richard) of Whitefish, MT, Tim Savadel (Gail) of Haddon Heights, NJ, Lisa Alsher (Mike) of Enola, PA, Matthew Savadel of Newark, and Jeffrey Savadel of Bismark, ND; brother, Barry McLaughlin of Newark; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am on Tuesday morning, August 1, 2017, at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, DE, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until 11:30 am. Interment will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
