Patricia Rose (née Dwyer) Feirer

March 18, 1931 - May 26, 2025

Patricia Rose (née Dwyer) Feirer, age 94, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025. She was surrounded by her family who never left her side.

Born in Baltimore, MD on March 18, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Margaret Dwyer. She lived and raised her five children in Kennett Square, PA and then moved to New Jersey and lived there for many years. After the death of her husband George Feirer, she moved to Wilmington, DE to be closer to her family

Patricia was a registered nurse and worked at The Veterans Administration hospital. She spent the remainder of her nursing career working and advocating for the elderly in long term care facilities.

Patricia lived a life centered around her strong spiritual belief in God. She was a beloved member of The Academy for Future Science which focuses on the intersection of science and religion, aiming to promote cooperation between these two focuses. Patricia inspired a spiritual songwriter, Kim Converse, whose life Patricia touched through prayer, to write a song about her called “Someone Must Have Prayed For Me” which can be heard on Spotify and Amazon Music. You can listen to the song on YouTube by clicking here.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Feirer; children, Laurence Grant Edwards, and Patricia Gaile (née Edwards) Zelten; and siblings, Eddie Dwyer, Jane Martin, Kathleen Corlies. She is survived by her children, Anne Edwards Wier (Richard Wier, Jr.), Brenda Edwards Tigani (Steve Tigani) and Glen Joel Edwards (Robin Bennett Edwards); seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; along with one great-great-granddaughter, all of whom she dearly loved.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to AccentCare Hospice for the loving care of Patricia as she peacefully transitioned into the loving hands of God. They would also like to thank Connie McGill for her endearing care of Patricia.

A funeral service will begin at 10:30 am on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Christ Church Christiana Hundred, 505 East Buck Road, Wilmington, DE 19807.

In lieu of flowers, I kindly ask that you consider a donation in my mother’s name to The Academy for Future Science by clicking here.
