Patsy Ruth McCoy

April 8, 1933 - July 4, 2024

Patsy Ruth McCoy, age 91, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

Born in Crisfield, MD, on April 8, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Roland C. and Elva (Miller) Tull. Patsy made her career as a data processor for Christiana Care, retiring in 1995 after 28 years of service.

A devout Christian, she lived her life around God. Patsy was known for her loving heart and would do anything for anyone. She tried to be the best Christian she could be every day. Patsy held a special place in her heart for her two dogs, Abby and Benji and her two cats, Fluffy and Tabby. She was always one to make comments that could be taken multiple ways, but she always meant them lovingly. Patsy loved to laugh, trying new recipes, crocheting, and tending to her vegetable and flowers gardens. Facebook was important to her and she looked forward to connect with family and friends, as well as connecting to her Facebook friends that she never met in person but still held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wiley S. McCoy; siblings, Paul and Jeanette; and 1 great grandson. Patsy is survived by her daughters, Brenda and Marsha; grandchildren, Buddy, Angela, Charlie, Michael, and Barbara; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and sister, Julie.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:30 pm until 1:00 pm on Tuesday July 16,  2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will be held privately.
