Paul Bernard Makowsky

Paul Bernard Makowsky, age 92, of Dover, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Born in Shenandoah, PA on March 14, 1931, he was the son of the late Paul and Anna (Kalada) Makowsky. Paul worked in his early years as a mechanic on a sports car. He also was a mechanical engineer at Delmarva Power and Light where he retired.

In his spare time, Paul loved fishing and hunting and was a member of the DP&L Sportsman Club. After retirement, he loved living at the beach and traveling with his wife to Florida to visit friends. Paul also loved taking his son Brian to the slots and going to restaurants.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Winkelman) Makowsky (2011); son, Ronald Makowsky; nephews Robert Sporay (Joanne) and Gerald Sporay (Loretta). He is survived by sons, Brian Makowsky and Steven Makowsky; daughter, Tracey Lisiecki (John); granddaughters, Haley Lisiecki, and Stephanie Ward (Erik); nieces and nephews, Maryann Robertson, Joseph Makowsky (Jan), Alan Makowsky (Toni), Robert Sporay (Kim), Mark Sporay, William Sporay (Anna), Dianne Brock (Greg), and Elaine Wallaston (Martin).

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
