Paul Edward Tackett, Sr., known fondly as Ed, age 52, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2017.

A native Delawarean, Paul was born in Wilmington on June 3, 1964, and was the son of Palmer C. and Margery (Parker) Tackett. He made his career as a roofer in the construction industry for many years.

An avid outdoorsman, Paul loved both hunting and fishing. He was happiest in the company of his beloved family. Paul will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Palmer. Paul is survived by his mother, Margery; sons, Paul E. Tackett, Jr. and Benjamin B. Tackett; sisters, Pamela Harter, Deborah Porta, and Brenda Tackett; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am until 12 Noon on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE 19720, where a funeral service will begin at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses in care of Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, at the address listed above.

    We’re sorry for your loss of Ed. We hope you find peace in your heart knowing that Ed is now at peace and in no more pain. Think about all the good times and memories with Ed as that’s the way he would want you to remember him. I have many fond memories of Ed and will miss him very much and will never forget him. He had a beautiful smile and that’s what I remember about him. Again we’re so sorry for your loss.

  • Thank you very much Ann I have many memories at your pool I appreciate it because at that time my soldier father was once again, fighting, to get sole custody of me and it helped clear my head at such tough times. Tell Aileen and Jim and I believe Michael was your oldest son I said hi and hope they are doing good

  • What a great guy ,a great friend who was funny ,kind and generous.An awesome hunter who showed and shared with me so many great hunting spots .
