Rajnikant P. Patel
“Sahaj, saral, ane dayālu — evo j manusyo mānav kahevāy.”
A simple, gentle, and compassionate soul — that alone is worthy of being called human.

Rajnikant P. Patel— our beloved Rajnibhai — passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the age of 77. Though his time with us ended far too soon, the kindness, humility, and quiet strength he carried through life will remain with us forever.
Born in the village of Vanthvali in Gujarat, India, Rajnibhai was the youngest of seven children and the cherished son of the late Punambhai and Chanchalben Patel. In 1978, he journeyed to the United States in search of opportunity, returning soon after to India to marry the love of his life, Pannaben Patel. Together, they built a beautiful life—first in Queens and Brooklyn, NY, where they welcomed their two children, and later in Salisbury, MD, where they worked side by side and formed lifelong friendships within a close-knit community.
After 40 years of dedicated service at Tishcon Corp., Rajnibhai retired in 2021, and not long after, Pannaben joined him. Their hearts were always with family, and with deep joy and anticipation, they moved to Middletown, Delaware, to be closer to their children and to spend their days near the grandson who was the light of Rajnibhai’s life.
His retirement years were filled with everything he loved—travel, laughter, good food, and the warm company of family. His adventures took him to Spain, Mexico, the Bahamas, Aruba, Singapore, Bali, an unforgettable Alaskan cruise, and, as always, back home to India. Wherever he went, he carried the same gentle smile and calm presence that made people feel at ease.
Quiet by nature yet rich in humor and warmth, Rajnibhai had a smile that could brighten any room. He lived simply, loved deeply, and treated everyone with respect. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. To his family, he was a pillar of steadiness and love. To his grandson, he was pure joy.
Rajnibhai is predeceased by his parents; his brother, Gordhan Patel; and his sisters, Shardaben, Kailashben, and Kusumben Patel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pannaben Patel; his daughter, Hina Patel and fiancé, Nandan Patel of Brooklyn, NY; his son, Vinay Patel and daughter-in-law, Sheila Patel; and his adored grandson, Niam Patel, all of Middletown, DE. He is also survived by his sister, Vimlaben Patel; his brother, Raojibhai Patel; and many beloved nieces and nephews who held him close in their hearts.
His memory is a treasure and his love will remain with us always.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 12 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rajnibhai’s memory to the Cancer Research Institute, 29 Broadway, Floor 4, New York, NY 10006-3111 or online by clicking here.
