Raymond O. “Ray” Butler

Raymond O. “Ray” Butler, age 68, of Newark, DE, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Born in Buffalo, NY, on April 23, 1957, he was a son of the late Rolland O. and Jean (Shera) Butler. Ray started his career as a chemical operator at the DuPont Co. and retired as a car transporter for Gambacorta. He will always be remembered as a loving son, father, brother, and grandfather.

Ray is survived by his wife, Karlene H. (McLaughlin) Butler; children, Jeanene J. Baeder (Jeremy), Rolland O. Butler II (Jenny Gott), and Robert B. Butler (Moray); siblings, Kathleen Treadwell, Rachel Butler, and Scott Butler; and grandchildren, Vinny, Rowan, and Lucas.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:45 am until 11 am on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Bible Fellowship Church of Newark, 808 South Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, DE 19702, where a memorial service will begin at 11 am, followed by lunch at the church. Inurnment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray’s memory to the Bible Fellowship Church of Newark Guatemala Mission Fund at the address listed above.
