Rebecca Ellen Neaves, age 88, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Born in West Chester, PA on January 11, 1937, she was a daughter of the late William G. and Stella (McMillan) Wimmer. Rebecca made her career as a Lathe machine operator at a fiber mill.

Rebecca was a proud member of Bethany Baptist Church. In her spare time, she loved to work in her garden and feed the birds who visited her yard.

In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney E. Pierson; son, Albert L. Neaves, Jr.; and siblings, John Wimmer and Virginia Barbor. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Wood, Theresa Jordan (Stephen), David Pierson (Linda), and William Neaves (Beverly); grandchildren, Veronica, Joyce, Rodney, Angie, William “B.J.”, Stacy, and Lana; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Kenneth Wimmer (Lori), Melissa Hazel (Steve), and Dale Wimmer.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

Marilyn ,Therasa and Billy am so sorry for you loss Becky will be greatly missed , i rememv\]ber as kids and all the sunday gatherings at Calvert at my parents and granpaents house after th grand parents passed away my mom and dad contiuned for years with the sunday gathters aqt summer holidays this times and days are long gone as the younger generations came along all interest in family gathers just dwindell away lost to the way side but i has lot o fond memories so they will all be gone / God Bless Our McMillan Family and our familly roots till we all meet again in heaven for really big family runion ‘,,,
