Rebecca Lynn Hallett
January 20, 1977 - March 29, 2026
Rebecca Lynn Hallett, age 49, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Born in Frederick, MD on January 20, 1977, she was the daughter of Douglas A. and Pamela (Preston) Maloney, Sr. Rebecca graduated from Christiana High School in 1996. Rebecca made her career at MBNA/Bank of America for 29 years, working in numerous business units for support services. Rebecca was a very loving wife and parent to her husband and kids. She also loved her two Olde English Bulldogs, Rosco and Willow.
When Rebecca was not working, she was very active with the Special Olympics Delaware MOT Tigers and the Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens Blue Gold All Star Football. She was also an active member of the Delaware City Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Rebecca was a fan of Reba McEntire and was able to see her in concert several times. She also liked the Savanna Bananas.
Rebecca is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Ronald Gene Hallett; children, Carrie, Madison, and Ryan; parents, Douglas Maloney Sr. (Pam); brothers, Douglas Jr. (Donna), Dan (Sarah), and David (Amy); In-laws, Peter Hallett Sr. (Elizabeth); brother in-law, Peter Jr. (Jodi); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Rebecca was preceded in death by her grandmother, Suzanne K. “GiGi” Preston; grandfather, Willis O. Preston; grandfather, James J. Maloney; grandmother, Edith C. Maloney; and aunt, Phyllis Preston Palabrica.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 12 pm on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Delaware City Fire Hall, 815 5th Street, Delaware City, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Interment will be held privately.
