“Ricky”

Mr. Richard A. Josephson, known fondly as “Ricky,” age 53, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013.
Born in Landstuhl, Germany on September 20, 1959, Ricky was the son of the late Jimmie D. Josephson and Theresa L. DiGiacomo Josephson. For over 14 years, he was employed as an assemblyman with General Motors at the Boxwood Road site. He later accepted a position with New Castle County, where he worked for eight years. He was also a master plumber.
Ricky was a longtime member of the Sons of Italy Prince of Piedmont Lodge and was active in the Holy Name Society at St. Anthony of Padua parish. In his leisure hours, he greatly enjoyed taking trips to the beach, playing horseshoes with friends, and cheering for his favorite teams–the Eagles and the Phillies. Most of all, he delighted in spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren who were “the apples of his eye.”
Ricky is survived by his daughters, Danielle Josephson, Christine Schorah and husband Kristian, Shannan Josephson, and Ricci Nicole Rivera and husband Victor; stepdaughter, Stacy Short; brother, John Josephson; sister, Tammie Yarrusso and husband Rand; grandchildren, Emma Schorah, Noah Schorah, Ashley Schorah, Aliyanah Jade Rivera, and Brian Cameron II; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Josephson.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, April 3rd, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Thursday, April 4th, at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Ninth & DuPont Streets, Wilmington.
