Richard D. “Rick” Palumbo

Richard D. “Rick” Palumbo, age 75, of Townsend, DE, and formerly of Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
Born in Newark, NJ, on March 28, 1950, he was a son of the late Anthony and Angela (De Sarno) Palumbo. Rick graduated summa cum laude in 1972, from Montclair State University in New Jersey with a degree in education. He made his career as a marketing representative. Rick was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Giants.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Kathryn A. (Neckelmann) Palumbo; and his siblings, Anthony Palumbo, Carmela Gaeto, and Louis Palumbo.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 2 pm. Inurnment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rick’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.

I am so deeply saddened by the loss of Rick. He was more than just a friend—he was truly one of a kind, with a kind heart and an easy laugh that could brighten any day. Rick’s stories about his beloved Yankees and Giants, and the Love he had for Kathy, are memories I’ll always cherish. His generosity and wisdom touched so many of us, and life just won’t be the same without him. Please know my thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with you all. May the love he gave so freely live on in each of us and bring you comfort in the days ahead.
