Richard L. Clark, age 70, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, on November 25, 1941, Mr. Clark was the son of the late John Clark and Florence Tucker Clark. He worked as a plumbing foreman at the Delaware State Hospital, and retired after 21 years of dedicated service.
An avid golfer, Mr. Clark enjoyed hitting the greens at Rock Manor and earned the distinction of hitting two holes-in-one in the same year. In his leisure time, he enjoyed billiards and dining out with his wife. Mr. Clark was a lover of animals and shared a special bond with his dog, Missy, and cat, Socks. Above all else, he was a true family man who will be greatly missed by those that loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step daughter, Marilyn A. Rose. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Carol L. Gary Clark; daughter, Debbie Pierce, of VA; sons, Brian Clark, of AZ and Mark Clark of DE; sister, Jeanne Wetzel; step children, Ben A. Bradshaw, Jr. of SC, Linda C. Fuqua of TN, and Gary W. Bradshaw of TN; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; and 4 step great great grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the entire staff at Compassionate Care Hospice, and especially to, Jeff, Angela, and Robin, for the excellent care provided to Mr. Clark throughout his illness.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 702B Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805.
