Richard “Richie” Santana
March 25, 1960 - April 30, 2025
Richard “Richie” Santana, age 65, of New Castle, DE, was taken from us on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, to transition home to begin his eternal journey. He was a devoted father, brother, and son.
Born in Wilmington, DE on March 25, 1960, he was a son of Ana L. Santana and the late Marcial Santana. Richie was a lifelong Delaware resident and a graduate of William Penn High School. He worked as a chemical operator for the former Formosa Plastics and Stauffer Chemical Company in Delaware City until his retirement, and was also a real estate investor. Richie’s family is heartbroken and struggle with his loss each and every day. He will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life, benevolence with friends, and his ability to live life on his own terms.
Richie is survived by his mother, Ana L. Santana; daughter, Brook M. Santana (partner Taylor); brother, James Santana; sisters, Shirley J. Vazquez, Sally M. Santana, and Nancy Santana; nieces, Christina Santana Bessant, and Sherri Martinez.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Interment will be held privately.
