Rita G. Owens

Rita G. Owens, age 86, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

Born in Shenandoah, PA, she was the daughter of the late Adele Gaudinskas and Charles Horan. Rita retired from the Christiana School District food service.

She was a Phillies fan, enjoyed feeding the birds, squirrels, and whatever else came to the carport. Having crabs was a favorite family feast. Pinwheel cookies were a treat. She had a special love for her cats, Blackie and Bootsie.

Rita was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew J. Dolphin; second husband, Raymond D. Owens; and two sisters, Mary Ann Porreco and Carol Reilly.

She is survived by her four children, Cindy Romesberg (Joe), Arlene Dolphin (Tammy), Andy Dolphin (Cherie), and Lynn Dolphin (Kelly); and two stepdaughters, Karen Hillman and Traci Fortner.

All services will be held privately.
