Mr. Robert B. Hutton, age 65, of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011, at his home.
Born in St. Louis, MO, on November 1, 1945, Mr. Hutton was the son of the late Leroy Hutton and Margaret Schaumann Hutton. As a young man, he proudly served his country in the US Air Force. Following his military service, he accepted a position with the Chrysler Corporation, where he was a devoted and outstanding employee for 39 years. Praised by colleagues throughout his career for his superior work ethic and excellent business sense, he retired as a center manager at the Newark assembly plant.
Mr. Hutton was an avid and knowledgeable vintage car collector and assisted in the restoration of several classic automobiles over the years. A keen student of Native American antiquities, he maintained an interesting collection of Southwest artifacts and art. He was also a talented artist and often delighted family and friends with gifts of jewelry he designed and hand-crafted.
Mr. Hutton was a devoted family man above all else and will be sadly missed by the many people who loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Damon Hutton. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Eloise Radford Hutton; daughter, Tanya R. Hutton of Columbia, IL; son, Sean D. Hutton (Jamie) of Waterloo, IL; brother, Leroy J. Hutton of St. Louis, MO; sister, Debbie M. Earley of Festus, MO; grandchildren, Austin, Ruby, and Hunter; and his pet Shih-Tzus, Fred and Ginger.
A funeral service will be held at 7 pm on Friday, October 7, 2011, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 4 pm. Burial will be held in St. Louis, MO, at a later date.
