Robert “Bob” Anderson, Jr., age 83, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

Born in Shreveport, LA on August 22, 1942, he was a son of the late Robert and Catherine (Smith) Anderson. Bob was a graduate of Salesianum School in Wilmington with the class of 1960. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961, working in ground radio maintenance and early satellite deployment. Bob was honorably discharged in 1967, ranking as Airman First Class. He then attended the University of Delaware where he studied Engineering Administration. Bob began his career at Pettinaro Construction Company in 1975, working up to Executive Vice President at his retirement in 2012.

Bob’s happiest moments were spent at the shore with family. Every year he looked forward to the annual Sea Isle City, NJ beach family gathering. Bob also loved traveling in his RV.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Sarah Catherine Lyons (Tom), Mary Agnes Fleming, and John Lawrence Anderson. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judith Ann Anderson; children, Carolyn Duffield (Brian), Marci Seeger, Patricia Buckley (Thomas, Jr.), and Cheryl Phillips (Michael); grandchildren, Krista Wright, Andrew Duffield, Cadence Seeger, Mason Seeger, Delaney Buckley, Hailey Buckley, and Tommy Buckley; brother George Anderson (Susan); and sister-in-law, Sue Anderson.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Friday, September 12, 2025, at St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
