Robert H. Marvel

Robert H. Marvel, age 83, of Newark, DE, and formerly of North Wilmington, DE, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Robert was born to the late Howard B. and Elnora W. Marvel in Wilmington, DE. The love of his life, Sarah E. Hannum, died in June of 2024. Robert was formerly married to Suzanne Marvel. They had no children and he has no surviving family.

Robert graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and the University of Delaware. He served in a United States Army intelligence unit for six years and was a teacher for thirty years in the Delaware Public School System. In 1976, Robert was one of two teachers to receive a national honor from the Valley Forge Freedom’s Foundation, the highest classroom teacher award presented by that organization.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no viewing and interment will be held privately.
