Robert J. “Bob” Koch

December 26, 1939 - November 18, 2025

Robert J. “Bob” Koch passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025.

He and his twin brother Bill were born in Philadelphia, PA on December 26, 1939, and attended Lincoln High School (1953-1957) together. After high school they both joined the Air Force. Bob traveled extensively throughout Europe playing his trombone in the Air Force band. He met and married his beloved wife Pamela (Pam) of 60+ years while stationed in England.

Loving husband and father, he is survived by their three children, Debbie, Diana, and Geoff; their four grandchildren, Orion, John, Michael, and Scott; as well as numerous loving nephews and nieces and their children.

After serving four years in the US Air Force (1957-1961), Bob attended Drexel University (1961-1965) then obtained an electrical engineering position with Dupont. While with DuPont he accepted positions at their Parkersburg (1967-1968) and Charleston (1979-1982) West Virginia locations but the majority of his time was with the engineering department at the Louviers building until it disbanded in 1990. He continued his work as an electrical engineer with BE&K until his retirement in 2012.

Bob enjoyed playing the trombone and was a member of the DuPont orchestra in the 60’s and 70’s. Bob and his wife Pam were also active members of the DuPont bowling league. He enjoyed games of chess, pinochle, and bridge and would also happily join in board games with the grandkids.

  • My favorite memory with uncle bob is playing Mad Money at their dining room table. He loved playing games with us kids. I cherish many memories with him while I was at UD, and summers at the beach. I will miss seeing him riding his tractor and his kind gentle presence. Thank you for being a wonderful great uncle!

  • To Bob’s Family we are so sorry for your loss and to hear of his passing. My mother was good friends with Pam his wife.
