Robin William Roberts Sr. - Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory

Robin William Roberts Sr.

Robin William Roberts Sr., age 70, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Sunday, July 20th, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most after a short battle with melanoma.

Robin was born in Wilmington and grew up in Minquadale, where he met many of his lifelong friends. One of which became like another brother to Robin, his friend Paul was by his side whether it was riding Harley’s, being on the water, or playing a round of golf.

He made a career as a drywall finisher, both by owning his own company and working for the Philadelphia Local 1955. He raised his children in Newark, and was known for being at every sporting event, not just for his kids, but for his grandchildren as well.

He led a life filled with laughter and stories that could fill entire libraries worth of books. He tamed the open road on his Harley, was always looking for the next home improvement job to tackle, and ready for a game of darts or pool over cold drinks. Robin enjoyed the beach; driving on, having a drink, and casting his line. Over the past few years he truly enjoyed his weekly golf outings amongst friends, and lazy afternoons with the dogs watching golf on TV.

His truest legacy though has always been the family and friends that he cherished so dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elwood “Pete” Roberts and Wilma Jean Roberts, as well as his brother, Mark Roberts. He leaves behind his three children, Nicole (Jorge), Robin (Chasity), and Brittany (Jonathan), his siblings, David (Chrissy), Jeannie (Jerry), and Timothy (Karen), his 7 grandchildren whom he loved dearly Dayne, Degan, Haley, Brayden, Kira, Jacob, and Bennett, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his beloved dogs, Willie and Nelson.

The family wanted to extend their heartfelt thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice for helping to make Robin’s final days peaceful in the comfort of his home. Additionally, for all of her help, love, and friendship a special thanks to Jeri Gue.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Interment will be held privately. Robin will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on with every Eagles game, each story shared, with every heartfelt hug, and every pole cast.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robin’s memory to Minquadale Fire Company, P.O. Box 647, Manor Branch, New Castle, DE 19720.

  • Brother I’m still at a loss for words. All the Thursday nights playing pool are embedded in my heart there’s nothing to compare to all the fun we had . And the trip to Vegas was absolutely an experience. Sending the stripper to my room at 2:30 in the morning and my wife says who’s at the door I said you don’t want to answer that . Lol. And to many Friday’s that we didn’t make it to work. I will cherish for the rest of my life. I love you my brother. RIP, till we meet again.
