Ronald E. “Ron” Andrzejewski
March 10, 1944 - November 25, 2024
Ronald E. “Ron” Andrzejewski, age 80, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Regal Heights Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Hockessin, Delaware.
Born in Wilmington, DE on March 10, 1944, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Cecelia (Oleksy) Andrzejewski and the eldest of their 3 children. Ron was a graduate of the Salesianum School and Goldey Beacom College. Ron spent the majority of his career with the DuPont Co. and later with Delaware Park, until his retirement.
Ron married the love of his life, Barbara E. Scott, on September 16, 1967 and they spent the next 57 years building a beautiful life together. Family meant everything to Ron and he was extremely proud of his family. Ron loved his daughter, Ann Marie, and his 3 grandchildren, Olivia, Nicholas and Alexandra immensely.
Ron loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. He also loved spending time with his sister and his extended family. Throughout the years, some of his happiest times were spent at family gatherings for the holidays, swimming on Sundays at his cousin’s pool, enjoying a family crab feast, and traveling to the Delaware Beaches and Outer Banks with his family and his cousins. Ron was also an avid amateur radio operator since his teen years. He loved spending time with his radio club friends and, on his radio, communicating with people throughout the world
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Andrzejewski; his daughter, Ann Marie De Cain (Tom); and his 3 grandchildren, Olivia, Nicholas and Alexandra. Ron is also survived by his loving sister, Mary Gardner (Joe).
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Regal Heights Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care and support of Ron during his extended time there and especially during his final days.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Friday, December 6, 2024, at St Joseph Parish, 319 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
