Ronald Hawkins was born on December 3, 1966, the baby boy of Carrie and Benjamin Hawkins, both deceased. Ronald was one of seven siblings, four brothers and two sisters. Zack Hawkins, Rick Hawkins, Victor Hawkins, Benjie Hawkins, Donna Jackson and Wanda Cyrus, deceased. In addition, Ronald had other brothers and sisters. Ronald attended school at P.S. 30, I.S. 72 and Cardoza High School in Queens, NY.

Ronald fell in love with Christ at an early age and began enjoying fellowship at Springfield Community Church. After High School he entered the United States Army. Ronald became an NYPD Police Officer before relocating to Delaware where he worked as a nurse’s aide at Delaware Psychiatric Center. While in Delaware, Ronald adopted another family which included Arnetta, Maritza, Chantel and Sophia.

Ronald loved to travel and enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved sports as well as grilling at the family BBQ’s while sipping on beers. Everything he made was topped with cheese. Ronald was our ‘Gentle Giant’. He was always there to help and always making funny, cute jokes. His quirkiness will be missed.

Ronald leaves to cherish his memory his four brothers and his sister, three sisters-in-law Peggy, Robin and Carla and one brother-in-law Andre, a rich abundance of nieces and nephews, two Godsons Tavon and Devonte. He also leaves behind an enormous number of cousins and friends from everywhere. We love us some Uncle Ronald, he will be missed.
