Ronald L. “Ross” Rossman

Ronald L. “Ross” Rossman, age 90, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
Born in Lock Haven, PA on April 29, 1935, he was a son of the late Jesse Rossman and Gladys (Folger) Geise. Ross proudly served in the United States Navy in the Special Warfare Unit as a member of the Under Water Demolition Team #22. He made his career as a driver’s education teacher in the Delaware Public School System. Ross was a longtime member of the Del-Vets Club Post 1, where he also served as Commander. As a member of the Del-Vets club, he helped establish their American Legion Baseball team. Ross enjoyed coaching baseball for little league, Legion and High School.
An avid outdoorsman, Ross enjoyed spending his free time off-shore fishing and hunting. He always cheered on the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and loved watching Penn State football. After retirement, he and his loving wife, Gloria, enjoyed spending their winters in the Florida Keys and spending their summers at his beach house in Pot Nets for the last 40 years. Above all, Ross cherished his family and especially treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ross was preceded in death by his brother, Sonny Rossman; and stepfather, Torrence R. Geise. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Gloria J. (Guerriero) Rossman; children, Julie Schwar (Edward) of Middletown, DE and Rick Rossman (Nicole) of Chadds Ford, PA; and 6 grandchildren, Buddy, Kevin and Eric Schwar (Kirsten), Ria, Nikki and Bella Rossman.
A committal service will begin at 11 am on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE. In honor of Ross, please dress casual.
Following the service, please join us for a Celebration of Life at 1pm, located at Del-Vets Post #1, 2535 Veterans Drive, Wilmington, DE 19810.
