Rosemary F. McClure
January 28, 1947 - April 4, 2026
Rosemary F. McClure (nee Brennan, formerly Lally), age 79, of Middletown, DE, and formerly of Clifton Heights and Norwood, PA, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on January 28, 1947, she was a daughter of the late James F. Brennan and Mildred E. (Grear) Lanciano. She made her career first at Bell Telephone, then as a stay-at-home mom to her 7 children, then as a post-mastectomy fitting specialist at the family-owned Post-op Shoppe in Prospect Park and Folsom, PA. That work, particularly, brought her great joy as she was able to minister to women in a deep time of need. She achieved a medical assistant certification in those interim years to properly serve her patients. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Informatics in 2002 from Neumann University, at the age of 55, she served for many years as the Assistant Director of Technology at Neumann University, supporting the clergy, faculty and staff that supported her through her degree program.
Deep in her faith, Rosemary was a devout Catholic. Her love of Jesus was the common thread throughout her life. She provided Catholic education as a Confraternity of Christan Doctrine (CCD) teacher, she worked as an instructor for the Marriage Encounter program and sought to raise her children in the love and admonishment of the Lord. She devoted her life to her kids as a Scout mom, as a stage mom at the Stellar School for Dance in Tinicum, PA, and as an active member of the Interboro Band Boosters wherever Interboro Marching band was performing. She and her family were deeply involved in the Christian Family Living Center missions in Cape May, NJ and Top Sail Island, NC. In her spare time, she could often be found crafting, sewing or creating stained glass. Rosemary loved her family deeply and cherished the memories she made with them.
In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund J. Lally, Jr.; sons, Edmund Lally III, James Lally, and Stephen Lally; and siblings, James Brennan and Anne Pinto. She is survived by her children, Sharon Wiegner (Donald), Michael Lally (Amber), Maureen Shermer (John), and Theresa Atkins (Brandon); brother, Thomas Brennan (Karen); 20 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at St. Joseph Parish, 319 East Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am. A committal service will follow in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosemary’s memory to the Sisters of Saint Francis, 609 S. Convent Road, Aston, PA 19014 or online by clicking here.

I remember your mama from when I danced at Johnny Stellar’s🩷 she was always so kind. I’m so sorry and I’m sending all our love.

We loved living across the street from your family in Norwood. Your mom and dad were a delight and all of you were the happiest little family. She was so kind and welcoming.

Hi to the Rosemary McClure family, your mom was new to our Parish this past year and I am a Knight of Columbus, Council #6543, and she and I hit it off after Mass one Sunday during our Parish Advent Sale. She seemed very happy to have found a person to talk to and I felt very gratified on meeting her. I hope and pray she did not suffer much with her illness. Peace and love to all of you and may Jesus Christ comfort you all during your trying time. Denis
