Ruth A. Walters

Ruth A. Walters, age 100, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on October 20, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Leo Dugan and Beatrice Hughes. Ruth dedicated her life to her family as a talented homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Ruth was a member of Asbury U.M. Church in New Castle.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Walters;  son, Richard Walters; and grandson, Tony Boggs. She is survived by her children, Jack Walters (Carol), Ronald Walters (Mary), Mary Ann Atkinson (Herbert), and Elizabeth Neubauer (Dave); 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 8:30 am until 9:30 am on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 9:30 am. A committal service will follow in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
