Samantha Elfrieda “Sam” Aslaksen, age 26, of Bear, DE, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023.

Born in Newark, DE on May 27, 1997, she was a daughter of Stanford Julius Aslaksen, Jr. and Gisella A. (Orosz) Aslaksen. Sam was a graduate of St. Georges High School and Delaware Technical & Community College, where she earned her associates degree. She explored several career paths, working at Porter Chevrolet, Herbalife as a representative, and at the YMCA as a lifeguard.

Sam loved to stay active and spent her free time practicing karate, running, or dancing. She had a passion for skateboarding, spending countless hours outside riding around. Sam was also quite an artist and sketched beautiful pictures. She enjoyed being around people and was known as the “Queen of Hearts”.

In addition to her parents, Sam is survived by her stepfather, John Covolesky, Jr.; sister, Sabrina Springer (Tom); nephew; Thomas Springer, Jr.; niece, Lucielle Springer; aunts, Karen Aslaksen, Elaine Hranich (Ed), and Cheryl Mirone (Guiseppe); and cousins, Mario and Veronica.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 pm until 6 pm on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 6 pm. Interment will be held privately.
