Samuel Roger Bell

Mr. Samuel Roger Bell, age 75, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013.
A native Delawarean, Mr. Bell was born in Wilmington on August 5, 1937, son of the late Samuel Melvin Bell and Helen Armstrong Bell. He proudly served his country in the US Army National Guard for nine years. In civilian life, he was employed as a route salesman for the ARA Vending Company in Newark for 18 years. He later accepted a position as a professional driver for Bandurski, Inc. in Wilmington, where he enjoyed a long, successful career before retiring as the company’s general manager. With his brother, Mr. Bell also maintained a productive local grain farm for many years.
In his leisure hours, he was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Judith Cleaver Bell; children, David R. Bell (Kim) of Newark, Samuel A. Bell (Jackie) of Chesapeake City, MD, and Stephanie B. Hearne (Lee) of Newark; sisters, Phyllis Dawn Groom (George) of Shady Cove, OR, Beverly Ryan of Wilmington, and Edna Ruth Barczykowski (Stephen) of Wilmington; twin brother, Joseph R. Bell (Louise) of Dover; grandchildren, Christina, Joseph, Bryan, Tyler, James, and Amy; great grandchildren, Nathan, Victoria, James, and Catherine; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 28, 2013, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Port Penn Road, Port Penn.
