I only knew Saundra a short time but I recognized a gentle soul. I will treasure our card games. She patiently retaught me a game that I had played so often with my grandmother. It allowed me an opportunity to have and share great memories. She touched my soul.

To Sandi’s family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Sandi was my assigned “branch buddy” when I started with HCPL over two decades ago at the Havre de Grace Library. Then we became actual friends, and then later neighbors! She crafted so much care into her projects – baking, gardening, caring for her cats inside and outside, and standing up for underdogs, the disenfranchised, and rejected. I see Sandi everywhere – the scent of cinnamon and citrus peel (her famous cinnamon Christmas ornaments!), orange cats, Bob Dylan, Stephen King, iris blooms, and paper crowns (for her trips to the dentist!). As we all know different faucets of someone’s personality, I hope there will be many messages here that will illuminate all of who Sandi (Saundra, Sam) was and the impact her life had on so many around her. She searched relentlessly for peace – let’s honor her memory by living out kindness in the everyday ways to all those around us. Be at peace, my friend. I’m sorry to lose you.

My deepest sympathy to Sandi’s family and friends. May she rest in peace with our Lord in heaven.
I will always remember Sandi when I simmer my Christmas cinnamon and orange peel blend.

Saundra, you have been and will be missed by all. Thank you for your love, friendship, and hard work in anything we undertook. You devoted many unselfish hours of volunteering at ArtUnion, for the Havre de Grace Plein Air (first Plein Air events in Harford County), Havre de Grace Art Show (handled large raffles and many other tasks), Havre de Grace Soroptimist and many other projects too numerous to list. You made everything fun with your honest, caring spirit and love for the Lord. The garden out front at work never bloomed without you. You always included and loved Aidan and he loved you. Prayers for your family. Peace be with you.
Jo, just Jo
