Sharon DonnaKay Rees
November 25, 1953 - December 2, 2024
Sharon DonnaKay Rees, age 71, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024.
Born in Wayne, MI on November 25, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Donald R. Reynolds and Mary K. (Hayes) Sinigaglio. Donna was a graduate of William Penn High School class of 1972. She made her career as a retail manager at The Children’s Place and Paul Harris. She also managed several BlockBuster Video stores, helped take care of her first two children full-time, and worked in the food service department in the Colonial School District. She retired in 2014.
Donna was well known for her funny, quirky, and blunt statements, often saying exactly what was on her mind without much of a filter. Some of her greatest joys in life were the times she spent with her family, friends, and her beloved animals, Ace and Queenie. She also enjoyed watching movies.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick H. Rees; daughter, Stephanie Lynn Baker; stepfather, Aldino J. Sinigaglio; sister, Lena A. Sinigaglio; and stepbrother, Eugene Sinigaglio. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine A. Chrisbacher (Peter); and four grandchildren, Kandice DiCriscia (Andrew), Randy Dill Jr., Shannon Dill, and Claire Chrisbacher; as well as her lifelong friends, Marva Jean Riggs, Deb Deveney and Laney Leonard.
She is and will be dearly missed.
A small graveside service will begin at 10:30 am on Monday, December 16, 2024, in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s memory to the ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929 or online by clicking here.
