Sherwin Richard “Dick” Rausch
October 24, 1937 - January 31, 2024
Sherwin Richard “Dick” Rausch, age 86, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on October 24, 1937, he was a son of the late Irving and Etta (Applebaum) Rausch. Dick proudly served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army. He made his career as the director of sales and marketing at multiple companies.
Dick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and helping in any way possible. He spent his free time working on computers, keeping up with his loved ones on social media, playing tech games and working on puzzles. He enjoyed evenings out, whether it be dinner, a movie, show, or a neighborhood event. Dick also wrote for the Springmill community newsletter “Sentinel”.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Rausch and Bernard “Bernie” Rausch (Camille). He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila C. (Hedden) Rausch; children, Rebecca Bergwall (Eric) and Debra Rausch (Dennis); grandchildren, Travis, Trevor, Troy, Victoria, Blake, and Brooke; and great-grandchildren, Kira, Kaylee, and Margarita.
A memorial service for family and friends will begin at 11 am on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE. Inurnment will be held privately in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
