Stanley Jock, age 63, of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Christiana Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Stan was born in Philadelphia, PA, on March 27, 1963, to the late Frank and Shirley Jock. He moved to Delaware when he was two years old. Stan grew up on West Park Place in Newark, where he attended West Park Elementary, Shue Middle School, and Newark High School.

Stanley joined the military at the age of 17 and spent 12 years stationed at Dover Air Base while serving in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt during Desert Storm.

Stan was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed reading about history and Delaware horse racing.

He was predeceased by his father, Frank Jock; his mother, Shirley Manfield Jock; and his brother, John Jock. Stanley is survived by his three children, Christopher Jock (Stephanie) of Millsboro, Cheryle Bunting (Jim) of Bear, and Andrew Jock (Barbara) of Lewes; his sister, Donna Johnson of Newark; and his brothers, Michael Jock (Vonnie) of Smyrna, Frank Jock Jr. of Newark, and David Jock (Candy) of Mississippi; two granddaughters; one grandson; many nieces and nephews, and a great-niece.

A committal service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Delaware 19701.

  • Stan, last time we spoke was when my sister died. We talked for about an hour, it meant the world to me. I’ll never forget you. I’m glad we got to tell each other we loved one another, a closeness that no one can ever take away. Rest in peace, you deserve it. I know you’re in Heaven now. See you at some point! I love you my Angel, fly high.
