Stephanie J. Carpenter, age 55, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, surrounded by her family.

Born in Delaware County, PA on May 28, 1964, she was the daughter of Phyllis Ann (Whisman) McCray and the late Carl Sargent, Sr. Stephanie worked as a dedicated, loyal and hardworking correctional sergeant at James T. Vaughn Correctional Facility. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her flower garden. Stephanie loved hosting family gatherings and holidays and made them very enjoyable, especially Halloween.

Stephanie is survived by her children, Rickey Carpenter and Nikki Carpenter; grandchildren, Emma, Antonio, Christopher and Brandon; niece, Shannon Armstrong; great nieces, Jordyn and Leah; and great nephew and godson, Thomas.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
