Stephen M. Mills

It is with exceptionally heavy hearts that we share the passing of Stephen M. Mills, age 36, of Warwick, MD, on February 20, 2026.
Born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey on October 16, 1989, Stephen was the son of Stephen G. and Donna (Hikade) Mills.
Stephen was a devoted father, a beloved son and brother, and loyal friend. He began his career in the construction field as a laborer for Choptank Excavation, but eventually through hard work and dedication attained the position of foreman. He was employed most recently with Cornerstone Construction of New Castle, Delaware, where his work ethic and the rapport he established with his co-workers were recognized and appreciated.
He was known for his love of the outdoors, enjoying four wheeling with his friends. He developed a passion for cooking, especially with his girlfriend Summer. He will be remembered for the joy he found in spending time with those he loved — most notably his children, daughter Grayson (12) and son Liam (10).
Stephen is survived by his children, Grayson and Liam; parents, Stephen and Donna Mills; siblings, Meghan Jones (Ryan), Kelly Brindley (Bill), Brianne Brindley (Sam), and Brian Mills (fiancée, Nanee); maternal grandmother, Eileen Lawrence-Hikade; girlfriend, Summer Dawn; and many nieces, nephews and many dear friends, all of whom will greatly miss Stephen.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 10:30 am on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE. A funeral Mass will begin at 11 am, following the visitation, at St. Joseph Parish, 319 East Main Street, Middletown, DE. Interment will be held privately.
