Steven D. “Steve” Richmond

January 15, 1956 - June 6, 2024

Steven D. “Steve” Richmond, age 68, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

Born in Wilmington, DE on January 15, 1956, he was a son of the late Robert T. and Barbara Ann (Adkinson) Richmond. Steve was a graduate of Delcastle Technical High School where he excelled at welding. His skill led him to winning a state welding competition that propelled him to qualifying for the Nationals, where he took home 2nd place. He worked for years after as a welder for the Local Pipefitter’s Union #420.

Steve enjoyed listening to blue grass music. He was also an avid fisher and hunter. Every year Steve would look forward to his family’s annual turkey hunting trip in the mountains of West Viriginia. He cherished his family and the memories he made with them, including his two beloved late beagles, Mikey and McGee.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Glenn Richmond. He is survived by his sisters, Denise B. Richmond and Paula C. Richmond (Patrick); nieces, April Iacono, Amy Iacono and Cammie McClafferty; nephew, Joseph Iacono; great-nephews, Nicholas Ward, Frankie Iacono, Sr., and Dante Peronti; great-nieces, Talyah Cook and Madison Lewis; and great-great-nephews, Dominic Cortes and Frankie Iacono, Jr.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:30 pm until 4:30 pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a memorial service will begin at 4:30 pm. Interment will be held privately.
