Stewart W. “Buddy” Forbes, Jr., age 74, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021.

Born in Elkton, MD, on January 3, 1947, he was the son of the late Ella Mae (Dill) and Stewart W. Forbes, Sr. Buddy worked for DuPont as a respiratory technician, retiring in 2003 after 38 years of dedicated service.

He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and a member of Retreads Motorcycle Club. Some of his favorite memories were traveling to all 50 states on his motorcycle with his wife, Marlene. Buddy enjoyed camping, listening to bluegrass music and eating his favorite meal, chicken-n-dumplings.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene A. (North) Forbes; 3 children; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 E. Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Buddy’s memory may be made to VFW Post 6027, 815 Turkey Point Road, North East, MD 21901.

  • Mr. Forbes, I have always held you and Mrs. Forbes near and dear to my heart. You were there to help when I was younger and even give advice to my fiancé when her father was I’ll. I’ll never forget the first time we met and conversations at the dinner table when I was younger. You will be missed.

  • To one of the good guys you always had open arms for a big teddy bear hug , and you loved with your whole heart .I am sure you are up in Heaven taking a long motorcycle ride with my Mom and Dad and the whole gang again and telling Dad ( Brownie) that you are not going down that dirt road and getting your bike dirty. I am so glad that you all came into my parents life and you have became a part of our extended family . You will surely be missed Stewie but you will never be forgotten I Love you and Marlene .
