Ted L. Jennings, age 96, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

Born in McDowell, WV on February 19, 1927, he was a son of the late Luther and Bessie (Adkins) Jennings. Ted proudly served in the United States Army. He worked as a process operator at DuPont Co. for 32 years until his retirement.

Ted had a passion for the outdoors and loved spending his free time tending to his garden or camping. He enjoyed listening to country music. Ted and his wife, Nedra enjoyed traveling together and exploring new places throughout the United States. Above all, he cherished his family and making memories with them.

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Nedra Parcell Jennings; Β sons, Steven P. Jennings and David A. Jennings; and grandson, Bryan A. Jennings. He is survived by his children, Jerome L. Jennings (Cynthia) of Gurnee, IL, Constance J. Ballato (Carl) of Rehoboth Beach, DE and Kevin G. Jennings (Cindi) of Wilmington, DE; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 8:30 am until 9:30 am on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE.
