June 3, 1958 - November 12, 2022
Teresa M. Baker, age 64, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
Born in Wilmington, DE on June 3, 1958, she was a daughter of Joan M. (Becker) Huhn and the late Robert M. Huhn, Sr. Teresa enjoyed her career in catering and later worked for the University of Delaware and Red Clay School District.
An avid beach lover, Teresa loved taking trips to Wildwood to enjoy the sun and sand. In her spare time, she could often be found riding her bike. Teresa was quite fond of Historic Old New Castle and spent countless hours taking in the scenery at Battery Park. She enjoyed cheering her husband on at his many softball tournaments, especially those that took place in Fort Myers, FL. Teresa was also a dedicated member of the Women’s Club of Odessa and volunteered for the Historic Houses of Odessa. She delighted in hosting her large family and friends for parties and looked forward to her annual Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties the most. Above all, Teresa loved being an Oma and cherished moments spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to her father, Teresa was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert M. Huhn, Jr., and Elizabeth A. “Betsy” Linhoff. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Les A. Baker; mother, Joan M. (Becker) Huhn; children, Shaun A. Baker (Valerie) of Bear and Brian M. Baker of Wilmington; grandchildren, Landon, Evan, Paxton, and Gavin Baker; siblings, John J. Huhn (Karen) of Bear, Paul C. Huhn (Pam) of Middletown, Rosie M. Spears (John) of Galax, VA, Mickey B. Huhn of Newark, Chrissy C. Mulholland (Tim) of Oxford, PA, and Monica F. Bartley (Chris) of Middletown; and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 East Main Street, Middletown, DE. A funeral service will begin at 11 am on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately.

I am so sad about Teresa, we had become good friends and I have truly missed her these past months, since she began this last journey. I am relieved that she no longer will be suffering as I know she did these past months and even years since those botox shots almost killed her! She was a strong woman who loved her family and her grandsons. I am so glad she had the time left to be a true Oma to Gavin. She enjoyed every second she got to spend with him and her other grandsons.
Teresa got involved years ago in The Women’s Club of Odessa and she seemed to enjoy the club work and as she recovered from a prior illness she would ride up and down the state with me to other GFWC Delaware club activities – attending numerous teas, bingo nights and other, too many to list, events. She was our go to, along with June Otten, for Baskets and other fundraising needs for Federation Day and Conventions! She would find a way to get into her basement crawl space and dig out wonderful goodies and stored treasures to use to creat the baskets and auction items. She attended numerous state meetings, presentations workshops and conferences! She pulled on her catering gloves and apron and helped every year with the Odessa Winter Blahs Coffee in February. She had been elected this past spring as Club Director and served as Federation Day Chairman for the club for multiple years. She was a great friend of and volunteer helper at the Historic Odessa Foundation as well.
This final downturn in her health was just too much for even her to conquer! We have lost a friend, colleague and strong woman from our midst. She is and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Warm healing hugs and prayers for all of your / her family Les,
Carla Pyle, President
The Women’s Club of Odessa

I am deeply sorry for the loss of Teresa, my “mother-in-law”.
I remember letting her know that she was my only mom after losing my mom.
It hurts, now, but in due time, the memories will be cherished.
My son, Gavin John, will have the happiest memories with his Oma and many more to make with his Opa.
All we can do is look onward to the future and brighter days.
My love is with my family <3
