Theresa Piascik, age 86, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Born in West Warwick, RI on April 13, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Rose McShane.

Theresa was the devoted wife of the late Leon Peter (Sonny) Piascik and beloved mother of the late Michael Piascik (Susan). She is survived by her children, Stephanie Miller (Ted) and Brian Piascik (Kathy).

More than anything, Theresa was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a gentle and loving soul who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Hope Lutheran Church, 230 Christiana Road, New Castle, DE, where a celebration of life will begin at 12:00 pm. A private luncheon will follow. Interment will be held privately.

  • Terry was my best friend for the past 54 years and my wonderful next door neighbor for 52 years. We had so many wonderful times together. I am going to miss her so very much.

I won’t look at coffee, toast, or coffee cabinet the same ever again. You can now hold Leon and all your love ones in your arms once again. I will miss you.

    I remember my first visit to Hope Lutheran Church in 2022, she was one of the first person that came to me and my family, she even gave me the beautiful flower after worship and said “thanks for worshipping with us hope to see you soon”. When I was leaving for Guyana she hugged me and said do come back soon. Wish I could have seen her when I return.
    The little time spent together will always be remembered.

    May her beautiful soul rest in Peace and rise in God’s glory.

  • Terry was a wonderful friend. She always sent us cards on our anniversary and birthdays. She also sent us get well cards. She always made sure all of us at Hope Lutheran Church was cared for especially during fellowship after church. She will be missed by all. To the family our prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
