Thomas A. Dorsi, Jr.

May 13, 1965 - July 21, 2019

Thomas A. Dorsi, Jr., age 54, of Townsend, DE, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019.

Born in Newton, MA on May 13, 1965, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Vicki Sue (Coggins) Dorsi, Sr.  Thomas worked as a technical advisor for DOW Chemical, recently retiring.  Not one to sit still, after retirement, he proudly started a lawn care company, Giving Back Grounds Maintenance.

A fondness of the outdoors, Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.  He loved racing motor cross with his son, Tommy and riding his Harley Davidson.  He was often referred to as “Mr. Safety” and “Old Man River.”  His wife was the love of his life and his fondest memories were made with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.  He had a special bond with his dogs, midnight and Ben.  Later in life, Thomas found the love of Jesus.  He will always be remembered for his great smile, jokester personality and above all, a great husband and father.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his special uncle, Jimmy.  He is survived by his wife, Angela Dorsi; children, Thomas A. Dorsi III of Townsend, Krista L. Dorsi of Newark, Shawn M. Langley (Jennie) of Old Saybrook, CT and Joseph S. Langley (Christina) of Aurora, CO; sisters, Patty A. Corea (Mark) of Millsboro and Mary A. Dorsi of Newark; grandchildren, Shawn M., Jr., Mason, Madison and Conner; and many nieces and nephews.

  • Dear Patty, Mary and his beloved family he leaves behind. I was shocked to hear the passing of Tommy. We are never truly prepared to lose our loved one, it’s the hardest thing to come to grips with, but oh how I smile when reading Tommy had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That means he wanted his name added into the lambs book of life, to have the assurance of a eternal home, as Gods word tells us in John 3:16. May our precious savior surround you all with so much love, comfort, and peace that will surpass all understanding that reminds us in Philippians 4:7
The Peace Of God, Which Surpasses All Understanding, Will Guard Your Hearts And Minds Through Christ Jesus: Philippians 4:7
